Meen Kuzhambhu (Fish Gravy)

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a kadai, splutter mustard seeds, cumin, fenugreek and curry leaves.
  2. Add onion, ginger/garlic, slit green chilli and saute it until the onion is transparent
  3. Add finely chopped tomatoes and saute it
  4. Add the tamarind paste, mom’s chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt to taste and let it boil till the smell of the chilli goes away.
  5. Now add the fish pieces and let it cook. this cooks faster.
  6. Add the pepper powder and let it cook for some more time and then turn it off
