Era Varuval (Shrimp Fry)

Ingredients

  1. Onions
  2. Shrimp (fresh or frozen)
  3. Tomato
  4. Ginger Garlic
  5. Green Chilli
  6. Mustard seeds
  7. Fennel seeds
  8. Cumin Seeds
  9. Curry Leaves
  10. Turmeric powder
  11. Black pepper powder
  12. Mom chilli powder

Directions

  1. First add oil to the frying pan. Now add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds and curry leaves. Fry it and stop before it starts to burn
  2. Now add the chopped onion, ginger garlic paste and the green chillis to the pan and fry it till it becomes transparent
  3. Add chopped tomato, turmeric powder, mom’s chilli powder, black pepper powder and salt to taste.
  4. Keep cooking and add as little water as possible just enough so that it doesn’t burn at the bottom.
  5. Add the shrimp to the pan and keep stirring it. the shrimp will release some water to the mixture.
  6. Keep cooking till the dish becomes dry and brown
