Era Varuval (Shrimp Fry)
Ingredients
- Onions
- Shrimp (fresh or frozen)
- Tomato
- Ginger Garlic
- Green Chilli
- Mustard seeds
- Fennel seeds
- Cumin Seeds
- Curry Leaves
- Turmeric powder
- Black pepper powder
- Mom chilli powder
Directions
- First add oil to the frying pan. Now add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds and curry leaves. Fry it and stop before it starts to burn
- Now add the chopped onion, ginger garlic paste and the green chillis to the pan and fry it till it becomes transparent
- Add chopped tomato, turmeric powder, mom’s chilli powder, black pepper powder and salt to taste.
- Keep cooking and add as little water as possible just enough so that it doesn’t burn at the bottom.
- Add the shrimp to the pan and keep stirring it. the shrimp will release some water to the mixture.
- Keep cooking till the dish becomes dry and brown
