Vendakkai Fry (Okra Fry)
Directions
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- Add fenugreek and onions.
- Fry till the onion turns transparent.
- Then add tomatoes and saute till it becomes mushy.
- Then add the okra pieces and salt.
- Mix the ingredients well and let it cook.
- Add chilli powder(or mom’s sambhar powder), turmeric powder and keep stirring.
- Add some water and then tamarind paste.
- Bring the entire mix to boil.
- Reduce the heat and keep cooking till the okra is almost cooked.
- If you have grated coconut then add that too and turn the heat off.
