Spicy Dip for Idly/Dosai (Kara Chutney)

Kara Chutney

Ingredients

  1. Onion
  2. Tomato
  3. Channa Dhal
  4. Urad Dhal
  5. Red Chilli

Method

  1. Add oil to the pan and fry red chilli, urad dhal, channa dhal
  2. Add chopped onion to the fried ingredients and saute it till it is transparent
  3. Add chopped tomato to the onion and keep cooking
  4. Let it cool and then grind it to a coarse paste in the grinder
  5. Add Salt to taste
  6. Season it with mustard and curry leaves
