Paal Paayasam with Rice
Ingredients
- Milk – 5 cups
- Rice – 1/2 cup
- Sugar – 1/2 (add more for taste)
- Cashew – handful
- Saffron – couple of strands
- Cardamom Powder – a pinch
Instructions
- Wash the rice and soak it for 10 minutes.
- Roast the cashews in ghee or oil.
- Turn off the saute mode.
- Add all the remaining ingredients to the instant pot.
- Close the lid and close the vent to build the pressure.
- Set the instant pot to porridge mode for 20 minutes.
- After the 20 minutes let the pressure release naturally.
- Add the roasted cashews and raisins to the paayasam.
- Check for taste and consistency.
- If needed to be thick, set it to saute and keep stirring till it gets thick.
